CO-CO POP WAR

On Thursday morning leading newspapers in India carried pictures of fighter jets with captions ‘surgical strikes’. By Thursday evening Pakistani newspapers were laughing off the ‘surgical’ strike as publicity farce dismissing them as routine retaliatory ground skirmish. By afternoon the jets had gone out of pictures and replaced by Indian Jawans with guns. By early Friday morning, newspapers on both sides were reporting that 1 Indian soldier had been captured, some 8 Indian soldiers had died and about 2 Pakistani soldiers killed. By Friday afternoon opinion articles in India were concentrating on diplomatic victory but also asking for return of ‘our soldier’! More…
